Construction Industry White Card (formerly Blue Card)

Course Overview

If you work on a construction site in Australia, then you need to complete an accredited General Construction Induction Training course (White Card).

Upon successful completion, you will be issued with a white card which you will present at site inductions. It’s proof that you’ve learnt how to work safely on a construction jobsite.

This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. It requires you to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislation requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to yourself and others.

Course Outline:

  •     Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work.

  •     Identify construction hazards and risk control measures.

  •     Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes.

  •     Identify incident and emergency response procedures.

  •     verbal communication skills to clarify information.

  •     procedures, processes and reporting.

Course Inclusions:

  • Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer / assessors who have resource industry currency and supported by a strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.

  • Practical and theoretical activities drive the training experience to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.

  • 5-hours of training. Up to 12 trainees per course. A typical course runs from 07:30-12:30

Participants must:

Be at least 14 years of age

 

Equipment requirements

We supply all equipment necessary for you to undertake training.

For our public courses at our purpose-built training facility trainees must provide:

Transport

Lunch

Appropriate clothing, closed-in footwear.

Certification:

Students who are assessed as competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Australian Operator Training (RTO 41351).
