Course Overview

Our training course specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type elevating work platform.

Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

This unit requires a person operating a boom-type elevating work platform to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up elevating work platform, operate elevating work platform, and shut down and secure elevating work platform.

• General inspection and preparation of work site requirements

• PPE

• Plan and prepare work

• Conduct routine checks and equipment maintenance

• Shut down and secure equipment

• WH&S legislation

Course Inclusions:

• Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer / assessors who have resource industry currency and supported by a strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.

• Practical and theoretical activities drive the training experience to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.

• 2 days of training. Up to 6 trainees per course. A typical course runs from 07:30-15:30

Participants must

Be at least 16 years of age

Equipment requirements

For our site, we supply all the equipment for the course.

If we come to you, it’s the student’s responsibility to have a Elevated Work Platform and site to operate the EWP on.

For our public courses at our purpose-built training facility trainees must provide:

Transport

Lunch

Appropriate clothing, closed-in footwear.

Certification:

Students who are assessed as competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Australian Operator Training (RTO 41351).
